Know Exactly Where You Stand

A thorough skin check is much more than a quick glance at a few spots.

On-site, we have other advanced trained skin doctors using cutting-edge dermoscopy technology and years of clinical expertise to carefully examine your entire skin surface from your scalp and behind your ears to between your toes, and with your consent, everywhere in between.

Skin cancer, including melanoma, does not always look the way people expect. It can appear pink, red, purple, skin-coloured, or pale. It can develop fast and in areas that rarely see the sun.

That is why a meticulous examination matters.
That is why experience matters.
That is why every skin check should be thorough.

Your Skin Check Is Just the Beginning

At Skin Alert, skin health extends far beyond your examination.

After your skin check, you will be offered a complimentary Skin Health Assessment and digital skin analysis with one of our doctor-trained Skin Health Consultants. Working closely with your doctor, they will develop a personalised skin health plan tailored to your needs.

Your Complimentary Skin Health Assessment Includes:

  • Comprehensive assessment of your skin health and sun damage
  • Complimentary facial skin imaging and analysis
  • Personalised advice on sun protection and skin cancer prevention
  • Recommendations for evidence-based, medical-grade skincare products
  • Discussion of suitable clinical skin rejuvenation treatments
  • A tailored skin health management plan based on your doctor's recommendations

Whether your goal is to better understand sun damage, improve your skin health, or explore evidence-based treatment options, our team is here to guide you every step of the way.

What's Next After a Skin Cancer Is Removed

Having skin cancer removed is an important step, but it is only the first part of the journey.

Patients consistently ask three questions:

  • 1

    What do I do now?

  • 2

Is it too late to repair and protect my skin?

  • 3

How do I prevent future skin cancers?

At Skin Alert, every patient should understand why their skin cancer developed, their future risk, and what they can do to help prevent further skin cancers. That is why, following treatment, your doctor will recommend a Skin Cancer Education and Risk Reduction Consultation, delivered by one of our experienced Skin Health Consultants as part of your ongoing care.

Why Did This Skin Cancer Occur?
We help you understand the factors that contribute to skin cancer: UV exposure, cumulative sun damage, skin type, family history, and other individual risk factors.

What Is My Risk of Developing Another?
Patients who have had one skin cancer are at increased risk of developing additional skin cancers. Understanding your risk is the first step towards prevention.

What Can I Do to Reduce My Future Risk?
We discuss the latest evidence-based approaches to prevention: sun protection, skincare, skin monitoring, medical-grade products, evidence-based oral supplements, and medical treatments for sun-damaged skin.

Our Education and Risk Reduction Program Includes:

  • Understanding the causes of skin cancer and sun damage
  • Assessing your risk of developing future skin cancers
  • Personalised prevention strategies
  • Advice on evidence-based, medical-grade skincare and products
  • Information on current medical treatments for sun-damaged skin
  • A tailored plan to protect your skin and reduce future risk, based on your doctor's recommendations

Prevention and Education That Protect Your Future

Our commitment extends beyond detection and treatment. We focus on empowering patients through education, prevention, and long-term skin health management. Because the best skin cancer care is not just about removing today's skin cancer. It is about helping prevent tomorrow's.

Treat Sun Damage and Selected Skin Cancers Without Surgery

Dr Bill Anseline was among the first doctors to introduce Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) into Australia over 20 years ago. Since then, he and his team have performed thousands of treatments, helping patients manage sun-damaged skin, pre-cancerous lesions, and selected superficial skin cancers.

No cutting. No stitches. Typically no scarring.

PDT is a non-surgical treatment that uses a light-sensitive cream and specialised light source to selectively destroy abnormal cells while preserving healthy skin. The cream is applied to the damaged or cancerous area for a period of time, then activated by a light source. The abnormal tissue is destroyed, and the treatment is designed to preserve healthy surrounding skin.

PDT is particularly valuable for treating selected superficial skin cancers on the face, nose, ears, lips, and scalp, where cosmetic outcomes matter most. For suitable cancers, PDT can provide an effective alternative to surgery while minimising scarring and preserving the natural appearance of the skin.

Unlike treatments that target individual spots, PDT can treat large areas of sun-damaged skin in one session, making it ideal for patients with extensive sun damage on the face, scalp, chest, arms, legs, hands, and other sun-exposed areas.

Healing begins immediately when the treatment finishes. In contrast, topical treatments can require days to weeks of application before healing can even commence.

Benefits of PDT:

  • Effective treatment for selected superficial skin cancers
  • Ideal for cosmetically sensitive areas of the face and scalp
  • Treats large areas of sun-damaged skin in a single treatment
  • Targets damaged cells while preserving healthy tissue
  • No surgery, cutting, or stitches
  • Excellent cosmetic outcomes for suitable patients
  • Healing begins immediately when the treatment finishes
  • Faster treatment pathway compared with prolonged topical therapies
  • Minimal downtime for most patients

Look and Feel Like Yourself Again

Cosmetic injectable treatments at Skin Alert Paradise Point Facial rejuvenation at Skin Alert Paradise Point

At Skin Alert, healthy skin and confident ageing go hand in hand.

Many of our patients initially visit for skin cancer checks or sun damage treatment. Over time, they ask about options to improve the appearance of ageing skin, restore facial volume, or reduce the visible effects of years of sun exposure.

Our integrated approach combines skin cancer medicine, skin health, and cosmetic medicine, allowing us to care for both the health and appearance of your skin under one roof.

Why a Cosmetic Doctor in a Skin Cancer Clinic?

As doctors who diagnose and treat skin cancer every day, our team has a deep understanding of facial anatomy, skin ageing, and the long-term effects of sun damage. Our dedicated Cosmetic Doctor works alongside the skin cancer team to provide evidence-based treatments that complement your overall skin health plan. The goal is natural-looking rejuvenation, not an artificial appearance.

Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

Anti-wrinkle treatments can help soften the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles, creating a refreshed, rejuvenated look. Treatments are performed by our experienced Cosmetic Doctor and Registered Nurse Injector.

Facial Rejuvenation and Volume Restoration

Loss of facial volume can contribute to a tired or aged appearance. Volume restoration treatments can help restore facial contours, enhance balance, and support natural-looking rejuvenation. Our Cosmetic Doctor will discuss the most appropriate options based on your individual concerns and goals.

Important Information: All cosmetic injectable treatments are medical procedures and may not be suitable for everyone. During your consultation, we will discuss treatment options, expected outcomes, potential risks, costs, and aftercare requirements.

We offer bulk billing for eligible patients where applicable. Eligibility may vary depending on the type of appointment, Medicare requirements, and individual circumstances. For appointments not eligible for bulk billing, a private fee applies, with Medicare rebates available for eligible services. Please contact our team to discuss your eligibility.

Most skin checks performed by a doctor attract a Medicare rebate, provided you have a valid Medicare card and the service is clinically appropriate. Some treatments, biopsies, and procedures may also be eligible for Medicare rebates.

Private health insurance generally does not cover consultations outside a hospital setting but may provide benefits for certain procedures depending on your cover. Our team can advise you of any fees and available Medicare rebates when booking.

Where clinically indicated, we can perform biopsies following your skin check on the same day.

Appointments are usually available within 2 weeks. If it is urgent, please speak to one of our receptionists and they will do their best to arrange an earlier appointment.

For the most thorough check, we recommend arriving with minimal or no makeup. Avoid fake tan or heavily tinted skincare products. Wear comfortable clothing that can be easily removed. Nail polish is usually fine, but remove it if you have noticed any changes to your nails such as discolouration or streaks.

Yes. You are welcome to bring a family member, friend, or support person. If you would prefer a clinic staff member present, please let us know and we will arrange this. Your privacy, dignity, and comfort are always our priority.

Yes. If you have one or a few specific spots that concern you, we can perform a targeted check of those lesions. However, skin cancers can develop in areas that are not easily visible, so a full skin check is generally recommended, particularly if you have a history of skin cancer, significant sun exposure, or multiple moles.

No. Our doctors are Skin Cancer Doctors with advanced training, experience, and a special interest in skin cancer medicine and surgery. They are all accredited members of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. If a condition requires specialist dermatology or plastic surgery review, our doctors can provide a referral.

In addition to skin cancer detection and treatment, we offer a comprehensive range of medical, preventative, and cosmetic skin services. These include skin cancer excisions, cryotherapy for sun spots and skin lesions, skin surveillance and mole monitoring, skin cancer creams and topical treatments, Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), chemical peels, medical microdermabrasion, cosmetic mole and skin tag removal, lump and cyst removal, acne assessment and treatment, cosmetic injectable treatments, skin rejuvenation, and skin health education and prevention advice. If you are unsure which service is right for you, our clinicians will discuss your concerns and recommend the most appropriate options during your consultation.

In most cases, procedures are not performed on the same day as your initial consultation. This allows your doctor time to thoroughly assess the lesion, discuss treatment options, and ensure informed consent. A separate appointment is then scheduled. However, for patients who travel long distances, we will do our best to accommodate same-day treatment where clinically appropriate. Please let our team know when booking if you are travelling from outside the area.
