The everyday allmedic exfoliator is a pH balanced foaming scrub with medium sized, natural based beads to gently remove old, flaky skin cells allowing new, healthy cells to surface. It contains high concentrations of AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and BHA’s (Beta Hydroxy Acids). AHA’s which are water soluble and help to remove the top layer of the Stratum Corneum. They act as a chemical exfoliator, targeting dead or damaged skin by breaking the bonds between the surface skin cells and allows them to shed. This reveals newer and healthier keratinocytes and younger skin cells at the surface and makes the skin appear healthier and more youthful.

BHA’s are lipid (oil) soluble and hence penetrate pores that contain sebum (oil) and exfoliate the pore lining. This makes it particularly useful to use on oily skin and acne prone skin to control breakouts. BHA’s are also a natural anti-inflammatory and have a mild antibacterial action. Non drying and at a pH adjusted to 4.5 which helps maintain the acid mantle of the skin which improves the epidermal barrier function of the skin, which helps to reduce trans-epidermal water loss and dryness.

Ongoing use helps enhance the appearance of the skin and may help to smooth skin texture, improve uneven skin tone and diminish the appearance of fine wrinkles. Studies have shown that AHA’s and BHA’s may also help to stimulate collagen production for firmer skin. This product can be used as a gentle peel by applying to dry skin twice weekly and leaving on for 5 minutes before rinsing off. Use daily on face and body or as directed by your clinic advisor.
